One of the services we provide at Aberfield is full events support. Here's a look at our recent events work for Leeds-based mental health charity Leeds Mind, attended by 150 HR managers, business owners and line managers in the city.

We recently worked with Leeds Mind to organise a conference for its Mindful Employer initiative aimed at employers across Leeds, helping them to support their employees and achieve sustainable mental health and wellbeing at work practices.

The bi-annual event was held at Cloth Hall Court, a dedicated venue near Leeds train station. 150 delegates including HR professionals, managers and business owners attended from a range of public and private sector organisations across the city.

With a diverse programme the day included lived experience speakers from the West Yorkshire Police, employer-led workshops from organisations such as Yorkshire Business Society and Canal & River Trust and wellbeing activities such as laughter therapy and craft activities.

The event also included an exhibition zone, linking up the city’s wellbeing service providers with employers attending the conference.

Aberfield’s role was to shape the programme of the day to ensure that the ‘making mental health sustainable in the workplace’ focus was fed throughout the agenda, liaise with the 32 speakers and manage the venue and suppliers, as well as provide on the day event management.

We are really pleased to have been able to work on such a fantastic event and support such an important charity.

Speaker:

“Thank you for a fantastic conference yesterday, the feedback on the day was really good and the social media coverage was great.

Everything went to plan, which is a credit to your organisation and planning.”

Speaker:

“I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for all that you did at Tuesday’s conference. I found it extremely well organised from start to finish and everything seemed to go really well. You deserve a lot of credit for all that you did. Thank you.”

Workshop host:

“Thanks again for yesterday – I thought the conference was really well run and it sparked a lot of great discussions.”

Attendee:

“There were lots of different workshops and activities to get involved with. The lived experiences were particularly powerful.”

Attendee:

“The range of different organisations was heartening, and having 'lived experience' speakers was great. The workshops were excellent, and the whole day was arranged and run very well.”
