Galloping ahead with another new client win!
At Aberfield Communications, we are excited to announce that we have been appointed by The Jockey Club East Region to provide PR and influencer support for its Newmarket Racecourses.
Recognised as the home of horseracing, Newmarket has two world-class racecourses with a rich heritage dating back to 1666. One of our objectives will be to challenge perceptions around a ‘day out at the races’ amongst some consumers to help highlight the appeal to a wide range of audiences including families, younger people, couples and groups.
The brief will see us support the racecourse through an influencer campaign and regional PR, launching with activity around its Moët & Chandon July Festival. Taking place between 11th – 13th July, the July Festival is one of the most prestigious Flat racing events of the summer, attracting 40,000 racegoers.
Michelle Anderson, Regional Head of Marketing for the East Region, said: “Aberfield’s immediate understanding of who we want to target and why, coupled with their creative recommendations, really impressed us. We are looking forward to laying strong foundations with regional PR and our influencer campaign, as well as working on a more long-term strategic communication plan, to drive awareness of Newmarket Racecourses and highlight the broad appeal of a day at the races.”
Tim Downs, Director of Aberfield Communications, added: “Newmarket is the home of horseracing and hosts some of the most storied and prestigious races in the world. With such a strong history and position in racing, Newmarket has a loyal following, but we want to broaden its appeal to be seen as a frequent day out, rather than just for a special occasion.
“We will be engaging with audiences to challenge these perceptions, as well as raise awareness of Newmarket Racecourses as offering fantastic days out for all types of groups whether that be for families, friends or couples.”
This win coincides with the appointment of Beth Chaplow as PR Consultant. A recent graduate of Oxford University, Beth previously worked as a Marketing Assistant for homeless charity, Greater Change, and brings strong copywriting skills and additional social media knowledge to our team. Beth will be utilising her experience to deliver PR, social media, and marketing activities for a diverse range of clients, including the Newmarket account.
