Aberfield’s weekly PR guide

Posted on October 28, 2013 by

Avoiding coverage around the phone hacking trial will be difficult this week, as it dominates the news agenda. However, it’s also Halloween and half term, so prepare for features targeted at families and children, particularly in travel media.

Here’s our full PR diary for this week:

Monday 28th – Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson are FINALLY in court as the phone hacking trial gets underway.

It’s also the start of half term. Cue travel guides on “unusual” and “quirky” places to take the kids this week.

Wednesday 30th – It’s the annual Barclaycard Mercury Prize which reveals the best albums of the year. Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and Foals are included in the shortlist.

Thursday 31st – It’s Halloween so expect some of the worst PR stunts of the year.

David Beckham releases his autobiography. Will it cause as much of a stir as Fergie’s which insulted everyone in the football industry?

Friday 1st November – It’s the first of the month and World Vegan Day. If you’re thinking of giving up eating meat and other animal-produced products, today’s the day!
